The first common books publication 'Communist Guide to New York City' by Yevgeniy Fiks is released. The publication was edited by common room, designed by Geoffrey Han, and includes texts by Olga Kopenkina, Kim Förster, and Yevgeniy Fiks. The book launch is on Thursday November 6, 6-7pm at common room 2.

common room has been invited by the Center for Architecture to participate in Park(ing) Day, an international event that reclaims parking spots in 50 countries around the world and transforms them into engaging public spaces for one day a year. common room will be collaborating with the AIA New Practices Committee on the event which will take place on September 19, 2008 from 8am – 8pm in a parking spot in front of the Center for Architecture.
