like many of the buildings in this region of ecuador, the project will be constructed in at least two phases. the first phase will establish the conceptual and physical framework for subsequent construction and use. the framework is based on 4 × 4 × 4m structural module. the physical structure will be created from exposed reinforced concrete flat slab construction. the framework is described on the public face of the building. in consideration of efficiency, construction details and the existing fabric of the market area, the concrete frame at the street edge will be constructed to the full height of the building during phase one construction.
